Stop Complaining!

Job 40:3 Then Job replied to the Lord, " I am nothing-how could I ever find the answers? I will cover my mouth with my hand. I have said too much already. I have nothing more to say."

Does it ever seem that we complain too much about our situations? It seems that we can never be happy with the hand we have been dealt. Recently, I was trying to help a friend of mine move a gun safe. As soon as we saw how heavy and big it was, he began to become very negative and start complaining. Ultimately, we were not able to put the safe where the owner needed it. I was talking with my son later about it and he said he was very upset because it seemed to him that the negative attitude caused the whole team to give up.

This happens everyday. It may not be when someone is trying to move a safe. Instead it might be when a big decision is being made about the future of your family. Or it could be a business decision. When we seek God's guidance, we need to go with a joyful heart and not to dwell on the negative within our circumstances. Our God is not going to place us in a situation that he doesn't think we can handle, so stop complaining!

I was recently reading a blog that my sister, Mandy writes. She and her husband, Chad, moved their entire family of 6 children to Thailand a couple of weeks ago. She was writing about how even in Thailand she could still see God's provision. God blessed her by giving her a beautiful sunset when she needed it. He also gave them a great church family to help build them up while they are there. I am certain that she could be focusing on all the negative, but she has learned to see God in the little things and be thankful.

Oh the lessons that I can learn from her. If you want to read more about her and her family you can read her blog at http://seventhsmith.blogspot.com/2013/01/time-warp.html.

About Me

I am a former soldier in the United States Army. I have deployed to Afghanistan once and to Iraq twice. I feel that I have been called by God to serve Him where I am and to do it joyfully. This can be hard at times. This blog is not about where the Army has taken me but what I read in Scripture and where God is taking me along my spiritual journey. I hope that you will glean information from what I write and will be blessed as God blesses me.
