God is in Control

Isaiah 45:5-6 I am the Lord; there is no other God.  I have equipped you for battle, though you don't even now me, so all the world from east to west will know there is no other God.  I am the Lord, and there is no other.

Job 21:2 "Can a person do anything to help God?  Can even a wise person be helpful to him?"

When I left the military I was promised a severance check for the years of service that I had put in.  I was told that I should receive it 10 -14 days after my last day.   As a mortal man, I am starting to stress a little, because I have yet to see the check.  Today I have bills that are due and am not able to pay them because I don't have the money to do it.  This can become very unnerving.  I know that the money will come, however I want it to come in my time.

Then I am reminded of the two verses in our passages today.  First of all, God is in control.  He has and is preparing me for battle.  Whether that is a spiritual battle or a physical battle, I have been prepared.  Secondly, God doesn't need my help.  He has everything in the palm of his hand.  He wants my unnending love, no matter what the situation is.  When the bill collectors start calling, He wants me to still glorify Him.  When there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel, I need to still worship Him.  When I see my Aunt on death's doorstep, I will still bring honor to Him.  Whatever the cause of distress, I will still worship and serve the Lord!

About Me

I am a former soldier in the United States Army. I have deployed to Afghanistan once and to Iraq twice. I feel that I have been called by God to serve Him where I am and to do it joyfully. This can be hard at times. This blog is not about where the Army has taken me but what I read in Scripture and where God is taking me along my spiritual journey. I hope that you will glean information from what I write and will be blessed as God blesses me.
