Genesis 45:5-8
5 But don’t be upset, and don’t be angry with yourselves for selling me to this place. It was God who sent me here ahead of you to preserve your lives. 6 This famine that has ravaged the land for two years will last five more years, and there will be neither plowing nor harvesting. 7 God has sent me ahead of you to keep you and your families alive and to preserve many survivors.[a] 8 So it was God who sent me here, not you! And he is the one who made me an adviser[b] to Pharaoh—the manager of his entire palace and the governor of all Egypt.
There have been times in my life that I struggled to see God in them. I remember a day when I was preparing to leave college because I couldn't financially afford it. As I look back on that day, I remember thinking that I could have just stayed and tried to finance it or signed a contract with the Army and then I would have become an officer. I would have had a degree when I was 22 rather than 33 and I would have been making a lot of money as an officer.
Then I thought about what I wouldn't have. I wouldn't have met my best friend, Ryan. I wouldn't have met my wife, Michelle. I wouldn't have met my mentor, Sergeant Dangerfield. He wouldn't have gottent saved because he would have not found my Bible. The list goes on and on.
See God had a plan that was much greater than any plan that I could have ever come up with. Even when I thought things were not going the way that I had planned, God can be seen still orchestrating my life. He is on the throne and has a plan. Sometimes we just need to realize it.
