Psalm 143:5
I remember the days of old. I ponder all your great works and think about what you have done.

I love camping. It is a time when I take my family and we go put up our tent in the woods and sit around a camp fire and just talk. We talk about what I did as a child when my dad took me camping. I remember the first time I went camping with my dad. We went to Hard Labor Creek State Park in Georgia. We seemed to work pretty hard too, because we had a big tent that we had to work together to put up. But I also remember the fun that we had. We also talk about many other things. Camping is a time for relaxation and remembering.

In life we must take time to remember the where we came from. We must remember what God has brought us through. You see, no matter how bad things seem right now, we can always look back and see how God worked to bring us through other bad times in our life. As we read scripture we can also look to see how God provided for others. God provided for the Israelites while they were wandering in the desert for 40 years. He provided for a widow who had only a small amount of oil in her house (2 Kings 4). God will take care of us. God is our refuge and our strength. He is our ever constant help in time of need. Why don’t you ask for his help today?

Eric,
Thank you so much for these encouraging words from God's Word. A much needed reminder :)

About Me

I am a former soldier in the United States Army. I have deployed to Afghanistan once and to Iraq twice. I feel that I have been called by God to serve Him where I am and to do it joyfully. This can be hard at times. This blog is not about where the Army has taken me but what I read in Scripture and where God is taking me along my spiritual journey. I hope that you will glean information from what I write and will be blessed as God blesses me.
